Naturhistorisches Museum
The Naturhistorisches Museum (Natural History Museum) is a grand facility situated near the Helvetiaplatz. The museum is dedicated to the representation of animals and their natural surroundings. Depicting 220 native and exotic birds and mammals in their natural habitat, the museum boasts Europe's larges diorama exhibit. Most notably, part of the exhibition is devoted to the famous Saint Bernard dog "Barry". The museum also features a collection of minerals from the Alps as well as gold samples and a chunk of meteorite. The museum is open to visitors Monday through Sunday during varied hours. It receives approximately 100,000 guests annually.
